How a shopper-data report gets made

We don't mystery-shop every store ourselves — and we don't pretend to. Here's what we do instead, and why it tells you things a single order can't.

Step one

Collect from multiple sources

Retailer reviews, shopper forums, and complaint databases. Retailer reviews alone skew to the first two weeks after delivery — exactly when nothing has gone wrong yet.

Step two

Filter out the noise

Unverified purchases, review bursts, and copy-paste text are removed before we count anything. On a typical store that removes 10–20% of what you see on the retailer's page.

Step three

Count what actually happened

We tally praise and complaints by theme, then separate reviews written after 3+ months of ownership. That's where delivery, returns, and support issues show up — not on day one.

What we won't do: write "we tested this store" when we didn't. Every report opens by telling you whether it's based on our own orders or on aggregated shopper data.
